What makes Christianity such a powerful religion?

How does it remain so powerful given the amount of knowledge available today that disproves so much of the Bible?
 
The question is based on a false premise,the Bible is not disproven by "knowledge".However it is not the Bible that gives Christianity its power.Rather it is the Holy Spirit that brings the love,healing and peace of Jesus into lives that makes Christianity so popular today.
