what motorcross bike shall i buy? 2stroke or 4stroke?

hello,
I am looking to buy a motorcross bike,my budget is £1300 and have been looking at yamaha yz125,cr,ktm,kx etc.
I am looking around the 01/02/03 model.Can anybody give me an idea of the better models,will in near future be looking at track but this is my first big bike,i can ride bikes however only at a novice level,
to begin it will be local fields,did look at 4stroke 250 but always been wanting to try 2strokes,can anybody help.any advice great

Two-strokes are lighter and quicker than 4 strokes. I like Yamahas for their durability.
