I was raised by devout pentecostal Christians. It led me to be very liberal because I studied very hard in school and saw how ignorant some conservative Christians are.
Basically I still fear God, and although I find it almost impossible to believe in some of the principles of Christianity I still believe there is a God and Devil or something similar.
I believe that organized religion has become corrupted by man over the years and think that God will be very understanding on judgement day to those who were raised by people and never had the proper chance to be good, as long as they did their best or atleast asked for forgiveness.
I don't agree with many things in the bible, like man/woman inequality, but this is out of good intention. Basically I believe that humans are basically (capable) of being good and naturally know what's good, they just can't control themselves sometimes.
I am much more tolerant of other religions than a normal Christian as I have some very good pagan friends, and I know they don't worship the devil like so many Christians believe.
I've been told that my beliefs are almost like a cross between Christianity, Agnostic and even some part pagan/shamanistic because of how I respect nature and am spiritual.
Is this just a dumb idea or does this sound like a new era religious person?
What religion could I be considered and besides just doing what I know is right in my heart, how could I pray and to whom?
Let's just say I worship God or Gods and Goddesses because it's impossible to know which religion is the right one since they all claim that they are. I don't worship nature or spirits I just have a very divine respect for them and believe that you could use that energy in ways similar to prayer. Most of all I don't believe in organized religion, because of it's potential to be corrupt and used as a scapegoat for evil.
Note: Do not try to convert me, just try to explain to me what my beliefs are considered and what would be the proper way to pray and to whom/what whilst not completely damning myself.
Plus I don't think there is anything wrong with sex at all, it's basic human needs and nature, like any animal.
