What religion (or denomination of a religion) am I?

I have always just considered myself a "christian" but I know there are TONS of different denominations/churches/etc. associated with that... lets say this...
I believe that Jesus is the son of God, died for us on the cross and if we ask him for our forgiveness then we go to heaven. I do not believe gays and "mental" people are condemned to hell and I rarely attend church (usually if I do it's just because I was invited by a friend).
Can someone point me in a general direction to research in? I've seen some charts, etc. but they're all very confusing... and I would like to actually pursue this. Thanks for any help... please don't leave sarcastic remarks, I'd appreciate seriousness.
 
This is very general, I would point you in the direction of Catholicism... But that's just because I'm Catholic :) But I'd accept any Christian religion :D

I'm not being sarcastic here at all, you would be much better off to pursue atheism, instead of believing all those ancient, primitive, outdated, superstitious fairy tales that are in the bible!!......I'm being very serious here, and I'm trying to help you!!

I used to be very religious in the past! I am SO much happier and content in life now as an atheist!!
