What service is better for use for the Nokia N97? T-Mobile or ATT&T?

I heard these 2 services use GSM. So can the N97 be used on these services?I Live in California.
 
AT&T has great coverage where i live, i always get 4 or 5 bars in my house and outside. It's great. T-Mobile has some dead spots as well as AT&T but i haven't found any yet
