I'm social phobic from very young age, and i can deal with it, in most of the times.
But since my boyfriend laughed at me when i told him i have social phobia and i'm afraid to talk to people or go out without worrying what people will think, i've started going back to my old roots and become more social withdrawn than ever before....
I know i shouldn't be here asking question, but be there OUTSIDE enjoying my life.
My social phobia has been a secret to him for almost 5 years...

what should i do?

dumb him? how to make him understand that my problem is not something to laugh about....?

Stop making a big deal out of nothing. Social phobia is just a label - it means very little. People have always been shy and uncomfortable in social situations it just never needed medicalising before. The human organism always wants to be right which is why you are even willing to go back into old symptoms to be right. You can be right but you cant be right and happy. Stop using that convenient exscuse, forget about social phobia and get on with your life. Your boyfriend did right to laugh at you - if he has been with you 5 years you clearly don't have much of a problem if he has never noticed. And lighten up, your a bit shy, so what.

Drop the critter he'll soon learn!

Best Wishes.

Mars Mission.

That's like the ultimate insult!
