What should I do to improve my sprinting ability?

Hey guys,
so track is starting around april which means i have under 2 months
to get myself in shape. I don't do any other sports therefore i am not
active through out the year. I want to start practicing and was wondering what workouts and exercises i can do in order to get in shape. I am doing only sprinting this year. I don't want to hurt myself like last year ( I forgot what i did but its when the meet starts coming from the bone? )
I am not a crazy runner, don't finish even 3rd but i would really like too. I want to improve my level. Please help me. Thank you.

PS: I can't run outside due to the ice and snow.

okay well you should definitely build up your stamina. Run on a treadmill or something but you need to build your stamina. when you have a good amount of stamina, you can run faster and longer and you won't get tired as quickly. Also, don't forget to stretch before you do this. I know whenever I run for field hockey and forget to stretch, I usually pull my hamstring (the muscle on the back of your leg) and it is REALLY painful. like I can barely walk afterward. So yeah...hope this helped!
