What should I do with my fitness situation?

My BMI=32.0 so I am obese
I am 19yrs old, 192.5lbs, between 5'4-5'5
now as much as those beach body and crazy abs are tempting to achieve, I would like to be realistic and want to shed some pounds and some fats. BMI says obese however, appearance says otherwise, nowhere near the obese appearance. Anyways back to topic, I would like know some ways to shed some fats off and condition myself both diet wise and exercise wise. I've looked into trying to go for p90x or even insanity workout, but please if there are just some simple workouts to do, don't hesitate to share. Even though bmi says im obese, all the muscles are really there and visible, it's just the thick layer of fat that i'm trying to get rid of with maybe some sort of toning exercise processes, hence why i looked into insanity and p90x. Anyways, if there is any advice please go ahead and put it up.

So again, appearance is not like blob fat but like muscles are visible but fats make my appearance bulky, that's why i want to go for toning to lose the fat covering the muscles, sorry if this is really repetitive.
