My four month old puppy barks at every person and dog when I take her for a walk...should I punish her...what should I do when she barks...people say it's because she's young...but I don't see other dogs doing this...help...how can I make her stop or will it just go away with time?

hit her a little bit not too hard with a newspaper or something

some people are against this but im sorry if you want your pet to turn into a monster like the spoilt ones on tv then dont discipline them at all

good luck x x x

Punishing her won't work. You know by now what her threshold is - what distance people are from her when she starts to bark. Just before that, start counter-conditioning her. That means distract her with really yummy treats (very tiny, bite-size treats) and talk to her. Teach her "no bark". She gets treats when she doesn't bark and when a person's approaching. You say "no bark" and good girl and keep feeding her.

If she barks, the treats disappear. It could be because she's young and being excitable and she needs to be trained that it's not acceptable, not punished.

Tell him "no" and snap your fingers. He will learn eventually. Be patient. Don't hit him, it will make him mean. Handle with love.
Watch the dog whisperer on TV, you will pick up good suggestions. Take him to doggy obedience school if you can. I did and it was a good experience for both of us.

Just have to tell them NO! everytime and they will learn that they get yelled at when they do that. oh and dont think they wont bark if somones trying to break in. Everydog does that. YOu can still yell at them.
