What to do about my rare car being flooded?

Towards the end of August, I was parked in a parking garage attached to an apartment building. I was visiting some friends, so I parked in the visitor's section. It stormed, and bottom level of the garage got severely flooded and my car got screwed. The insurance company wanted to fix an obviously un-fixable car, so it pretty much sat in the dealership garage for a month. Then, the mechanics figured out it wasn't going to be able to be fixed, so the insurance company FINALLY totaled it. It was a black 2009 Honda EX-L with a navigation system with tinted windows. It was the premium model and I bought it when it was one year old. These cars are incredibly hard to find and that's one of the reasons this is pissing me off so much.

Basically, I'm waiting for the insurance check and they're trying to give me less money, I'm going to sue the apartments for the deductible we had to pay when they thought the car was being fixed and for the ipod that got damaged from sitting in the car, and I'm looking for a new one that's exactly the same.

I've found one or two that are far away, which is ok if the dealerships in my city pay to have it shipped here. I would probably have to get one without tinted windows and tint them myself, which I was thinking could be put on the list of things the apartments need to pay for. My father has talked to a lawyer and everything. I just want to know if any legal or car experts out there have any advice for me about legal routes to take and how to find a car. Thanks!
