...Are there geographic differences bet? What tool tradition(s) is Homo erectus (and H. ergaster) associated with? Are there geographic differences between the tools associated with this form? What other innovation(s) in technology is Homo erectus often credited with? How was it different from the earlier hominins?
 
He is credited with the hand axe. It is also known as the Auchulean tools in later erectus. Some credit them with fire as well
 
Early erectus and ergastor used Oldowan tools, later they advanced to Acheulean tools. There is speculation that erectus was the first to use rafts.
