What truck or SUV should I get with $5000?

I want:
-AWD/4wd
-small to midsize
-rugged resilient interior that is EASY TO CLEAN
-don't need a v8. a large 4cyl or v6 is perfect
-reliable for everyday driving and snowboard trips to the mountains.
-easy to maintain yourself (user friendly, minimal hard to reach places, etc.)
-$5000 or less.

suggestions? it doesn't have to meet ALL my criteria. beggars can't be choosers right?
I don't want to, but if it MUST max out at $6500, then so be it. but try not to.
or "4x4" if you're that anal. you know what i mean.

I would be looking at Jeep Cherokees or Nissan Xterras. I would avoid anything that is FWD if you want easy to maintain yourself.
