What types of jokes would be inappropriate for stand-ups?

Im trying to get into stand-up comedy, im trying to book a gig in the next few weeks but im worried that my jokes might cause offence.
what catergories of jokes should i tell?
Ive been researching other stand-up comedians and they joke about black people( white comedians), gay people, welsh people and sheep, white people (black comedians) etc but they are already famous comedians.
as a beginner what type of jokes should i tell?

It depends, on your audience and your style probably. Bernard Manning who was racist in his jokes, I think it was him who said, you can pick on a member of the audience and insult them, and they will laugh, but you can't insult them all. I think the ideal jokes you should tell, are stuff that is true to life, it can't be offensive.

I've never done standup, but on Saturday I was out drinking, I was out of town, dodn't really know anyone, just me and my mrs, I was in the cubicle in the toilet (which I don't normally do) but you know, we'd had a curry. Anyway This guy comes in seems to know me " alright mate" I've never felt quite comfortable talking to anyone sat on the toilet, maybe it's me. "er..alright" I still didn't know him but he knew me so well I wen along with it "what are you up to now?" he asked, I didn't quite know how to handle that, I'm gettin a bit freaked out now, I'm out of town, theres a man harassing me in the toilets "I'm havin a shite" I said. "Right! that's it..I'm gonna have to go mate, every time I say anything the bloke in the cubicle keeps answering me."

I bet a comedian could make that into something.
 
telling funny ones would be best, especially if you are just starting out.

you can try telling offensive jokes if you want, but there is a knack to it that not everyone has and if you don't have it you will fail
 
You no there some jokes which a rasist but then you get jokes which are funny making jokes about typical black people/ white or indian...

You need to be careful
Just dont do jokes like why did the chicken cross the road.

Take about life experiences but just add to them
