what vitamins can I take to replace fish in a diet?

My dad accepts that I am vegetarian but refuses to let down the point that he thinks I should eat fish (which isnt going to happen). He thinks that I am sorely lacking some kind of vitamins and minerals and such that only fish can provide. What all can I take pill wise to make him stop talking about this? Flax seed? Omega 3 pills? anything else?
Since Ive stopped eating meat I eat more protein than I did before and a more balanced diet overall- so Im open to food or nuts that will replace what I would get from fish I just need to show my dad that its an actual replacement because he bugs me all the time about not eating fish and I would like for it to stop.

Well, NOT that I would advocate substituting a food type with vitamins, Fish/seafood is generally rich in Omega 3 oils, vitamins A & D and Potassium.

Probably the easiest substitute is a multivitamin + mineral tablet. However, This will be nothing like as good as consuming the foodstuff proper.

I would take your basic multivitamin pack you can buy at any gnc. also if you eat more protein from milk or whey products it will help because a lot of vegetarians are protein deprived.

lobol- no offense but for a vegetarian to try to get a full days worth of vitamins in minerals would be beyond difficult. It would be very expensive too, while multivitamins may not be as good as most vegetables or actual food there a lot better then nothing.

I have a question. are you a vegetarian for health reasons or animal reasons?

I would try and explain to him that i can get vitamins from many other foods such as carrots/spinach/broccoli all vegetable are pretty rich in vitamins/minerals. and explain your reasoning for being a vegetarian so he understands

If you really want a healthy vegetarian lifestyle, you should look for FOOD alternatives that have the vitamins you need instead of pills.
