Why, after a thousand years of no persecution towards witches, did various Christian groups begin persecuting witches in the 15th century? What political and religious shifts caused various waves of witch hysteria? Could the rise in persecution of witches be also linked to the rise of the execution of heretics full stop (the first layman executed in England for heresy was in 1410).

the rising christianity religion in europe was being retarded by the old country religions which are matriarchal and led by women... the christians have to spread propaganda to make the matriarchal religions...

and christianity is a chauvinistic religion, like all Abrahamic Religions from the middle east... it would really cramp their style to have female priests...

one of the techniques the early church did was to parallel native religions to christianity... but female priesthood has no parallel in christianity... so they have to demonize female priesthood
