What won't it let me send picture messages with the Blackberry Pearl?

I just got the blackberry pearl and I really wanted to send and recieve pictures however I don't have MMS or attached file. My phone is cingular [at&t] It's really frustrating on top of that I don't know how to take videos. Please someone help me out?
