what would make my truck not run after changing waterpump?

i have a 96 ford ranger and i recently put a water pump in it. after i was i done it started up fine. i turned it off and tried to start it again and nothing is happening. is there something little or stupid that i could of hit of detached while installing the water pump?
 
Carefully recheck all of the wiring and any connections or connectors that you may have pulled or pushed out of the way to access and replace the water pump. If you don't find any concerns, service the battery connections including the ground(s) and solenoid and starter terminals.
