A small bit of my current story includes happening upon a village that hasn't advanced at all over the last couple hundred years. So far it has: residential cabins, a church, general store, midwife's house, church, cemetery, tavern, meeting hall, and school. What else do you think it could use? Am I missing anything?

If it really hasn't advanced at all, I'd expect there to be stables of some sort and a blacksmith. And buildings associated with farming and/or fishing, depending on the location.

Cobbler, physician, clothier, blacksmith, brothel, wheelwright. I guess the location would dictate what sort of industries would be needing supportive businesses... fishing, logging, ship building, mining, agriculture.. etc.

fun question.

you could add a bathhouse....um maybe a town square where meeting for public humiliation occur, too.
