I've written the first chapter of my novel, where the main character Chloe wakes up in a place called Evermore, and learns she's dead.
In the second chapter I need to include the following things.
Chloe making friends
Chloe finding the arena where she is told she must train for at least 6 months.
Finally being told that the world she's woken up in, is a world at war.
I don't know how to keep this chapter interesting without it sounding like I'm just piling on the information! I've read it over and over and it just sounds like babble, with nothing to hold the readers attention.
What would you like to see, if you were reading it? And how would you keep the attention?
