What's more a more powerful engine for a vintage volkswagen?

i have a type 1 engine and one of my friends is giving me a type 4 engine that he doesn't want
which is more powerful?
whill it damage my bug if i put the type 4 in it?
 
There used to be a guy near me who put a porsche engine in his beat up old bug. Apparently it fit no problems. He used to burn people up at the lights but I don't know what (if any) chassis and other mods were needed. It was a sleeper car, he wanted it to look like a heap but no-one ever saw it coming.

It shouldn't as long as everyting bolts up right. VW is really good at making everything fit.

A little tip, if you have the money and ability, a Porche engine will fit into the bug. They use the same style engines.
