What's the best and least expensive way to clean a cd/dvd?

Some of my cds/dvds have fingerprints or smudges on them. Best way to clean them? How about getting scratches off?
 
The easiest way to clean dirty discs is to run warm water in the kitchen sink, squirt some dishwashing liquid on a sponge, squeeze it a few times to get it sudsy, and gently wipe the disc from the center outward. Then make sure to dry the disc completely before using it. :)
