What's the best blog platform/software for beginners?

I'm wanting to start blogging, including pictures. This is mainly for family and some friends. I'd also like to be able to do posts from my iPhone. What does everyone suggest for the best platform to use (WordPress, Blogger, etc.)? What has an iPhone app to make the remote blogging easier?
