Whats the best wireless internet connection that will work in NE Thailand?

I dont have a landline. At the moment I am using a Bluetooth USB device with a mobile phone. Its very slow and sometimes won;t connect.
A friend has a Merlin XU 870 wireless data card, which works much better for about the same cost per 120 hours.
Any body out there in the Udon region that can give me some advice ?
