What's the cheapest prepaid phone deal for my situation?

I'm looking for the cheapest option to get unlimited text and talk to ONE single person. I have another phone that is just included in my parents family plan, but it has no texting plan and there are only 1,000 shared minutes between 4 family members. I would text/talk to only one person on this line. So far it's looking like my best bet would be the $2 a day AT&T prepaid unlimited text/calling. What do you think?
Also.. How would this work? Do I have to use only the phones they specifically let me use? Or can I just use any phone I want. Can I buy the prepaid cards at Walmart or something and then just activate the phone online?
 
You can get unlimited talk, text and web with 30 service days for $50 with Net10. Or unlimited talk, text and web with 30 service days for $45 with Straight Talk(you can only purchase from Walmart or online).
