What's the difference between a bar, smartphone, and handhelds & sidekicks?

I'm getting a new phone and i can't decide so i was looking at all the stuff these phones have, and there's a category that's called Features, and under that, for one phone it had: Bar. For another it had: Smartphone. And for another it had: Handhelds & Sidekicks. What's the difference?

Well sometimes the iPhone is considered a bar phone. And smartphones are like blackberrys and handhelds are more like they slide up with a keyboard for texting alot like a sidekick. Hope I helped!
