Its this movie where they go into space and there are these aliens that are blueish and they kinda look like giant crabs and the scientist or doctor turns into half alien and half human and events unfold and the boy and doctor are the only ones left in a certain timeline but the timeline changes. Thats the best I can remember can anyone please tell me what the name is?

A family plans to go to a distant planet to try to make a colony there, but there's a sabotage and they end up lost in space. Then. they find another ship and a planet and after a few problems, they manage to escape and continue searching for their home planet.
