What's the proper etiquette when it comes to introductions?

My husband is a great guy but whenever we run into someone he knows or when we go to work functions he won't introduce me to his colleagues. This creates some odd moments and I mentioned this to him but he says he never thinks about it because he thinks I'm perfectly capable of introducing myself. I know I am capable of doing that but it bothers me, especially if I have to do it right after another guy introduces his wife. Who is right? Thanks.
 
He should ABSOLUTELY no exlcusions introduce you to others every single time and if he doesn't embarrass him a little and say something like "Im ________ this bone head's wife".
 
You are perfectly correct.
It shows good etiquette for your husband to introduce you.

Talking about introductions. I hate it when you are greeted by a number at resturants.
ie:- you walk in and the matre'd walks to you and says TWO ( if it's say you and your husband)
A friend of mine is a chef and he went alone to a resturant and was greeted with 'ONE' he replied
yes thankyou for reminding me I lost my wife last week. He was joking but informed the waitress that it could happen..............
 
OK, so maybe you can't change him. So don't wait and do it yourself. I'm sure that not everyday you come across ??? people. Be the bigger person
 
In a perfect world, my husband would introduce me to others that I don't know. The reality is that he doesn't think to do it. I just smile, and say something like "Hi, I'm _____'s wife." It's nice to meet you, extending my hand. In the past I said something about him not introducing us, but I've stopped doing that. I think speaking up at the appropriate time with an extended hand is more friendly.
 
If you are at a work function yes he should introduce you

if you bump into them at the store and are like Oh hi, and that's it as you keep walking, then no.
Obviously if it is a good friend/co-worker worth an introduction, you would stop to talk and then introduce. But I have run into people from work at a store and just said Hey and kept walking because they aren't friends, but just people I happen to work with.
