it doesnt have an element associated to it. it is a "melee type zanpakuto" and it ichigo leaks reiatsu thats why it is always in its released state. its name is zangetsu and its bankai name is tensa zangetsu. when in this form it compresses it power tho, and allows ichigo to use shunpo and his cloak of his bankai measures his reaitasu levels.
