Whats up with this rumor about YellowStone National Parkk?

Ugh, i heard this rumor that one day(Soon) the volcano at "Yellow Stone National Parkk" will erupt, and because of the size of the volcano, it could effect almost the whole world? Is this true?

Have you watched 2012?? there's a scene where the male lead escapes with his family from the YellowStone National Park. If it's not true or if they do not have some Scientific research, they would not have used that location as part of the plot. They could simply get other mountainous location to do the shoot.

It's true that Yellowstone Park is basically one giant volcano caldera, and that the supervolcano erupts every 600,000 years. But there isn't really any evidence to suggest that it will erupt any time soon. It's just being hyped because of all the recent earthquake and volcanic activity around the world.
