I will agree that there seem to be fewer Americans posting about it here, but I'm not sure any real conclusions can be drawn from that. It's a martial arts forum, not a political forum. I personally spent years debating politics and just got tired of seeing the same arguments cycle through. It's like the perpetual ninja threads here.
Some of us just don't like debating politics... doesn't mean we don't care about what's going on. And frankly, with a thread titled "what's wrong with America?"... where do you start?
This is exactly what im talking about people who see it like yohan. Last night on cnn they showed how mccain won a state, how can people vote for someone who wants to stay in iraq for another 100 YEARS. How can america afford that? they also got alot of soldiers in asia korea to be more specific for over 50 years now.
Do they really expect their "young generation" to pay off all that debt?(8 trillion dollars or something) also people in college are screwd over since i think they wont give them lones or something like that not really sure but it was on cnn last night.

"Ron Paul most money from military" The usa military supports ron paul the most cuz he is the ONLY one who will take out the troops from asia and middle east right away unlike people like mccain who want to stay there for another 100 years....
He is also the guy who speaks the most truth, the government fears him so they block him out of the media since they know they cant make him into their puppet like they did to other presidents. They know they committed crimes that can put them behind bars for long and by knowing ron paul hed expose them. Ron paul is like the next kennedy for ameirca but no one seems to notice.
People are noticing . . . he's the only candidate that anyone cares one iota about. You didn't see many Hilary signs during the primaries. You didn't see many huckabee signs, but you saw a BUNCH of Ron Paul signs. His rallies are packed, his Youtube channel is full of subscribers. I'm not entirely sure I trust the voting system in this country. It would be so easy to rig it. i think we need to return to a paper voting system.
Because the average american voter doesn't know or give a crap about foreign policy or what candidate espouses what foreign policy. They just vote for the guy they like best from the snippets they see on the news.

Yes every country has its problems true words but not as much as america. Is canada even in debt? And if you lived in canada you would KNOW usa the country next to us has a huge impact on canada. Canada and Usa Trade more daily then anywhere on the planet. Most of the stores in canada are american, everything in canada is "americanize" you could say(most stuff is ran by american companies). Their also involved in nau so that also effects canada and mexico alot cuz of usa.
America even tryed to get canada to help them with iraq thank god they said no you have no idea how much impact usa has on canada....Usa is currently still leading the world as the strongest country since they got alot of army force.
Like i said most of the stores and buisness in canada are from america if they crash so will our trade those american stores in canada will become emptyish and crash here too.
Also nau i hope will never happen that would mean no borders between mexico usa and canada. Canada and mexico would be most likley ran by the usa gov and by the looks of the usa gov would you really want those people to control your country?

I was born and raised in america as my family has been for over 400 years.
My mothers ancestors where waiting for my fathers ancestors when they got there.
My mothers family is descendant from native americans AND african slaves.
But that is neither here nor there.
The problem is; can I say I am native american?
No.
Why?
Because my skin is white.

I have heard that term for 20 years now. I know BLACK people who hate it because they say it drives a wedge as well.
But when I ask these "african americans" who are BORN AND RAISED on US soil and have never even left the country, just exactly what part of africa they,or thier ancestors, hail from; I get the same answer.....

I am decendant from the french on my fathers side. Can I claim French-American? No,I can't.

A few years back when I was living in colorado, 2 friends and myself went into a library in the springs to do research for finacial aid to go back to college.
No problem. Everyone should get a fair chance to go to uni to further thier goals in life and that is what finacial aid is for.
Now; I know some moron is going to say that I am jumping on the racist bandwagon here; and I have to say-1-I am not meaning to sound like that and-2...bite me if you throw that back in my face!
But, in our reasearch,we came up almost 500 different ways and institutions for finacial aid for adults returning to school.
Funny thing though; my 2 friends were black and they were disgusted that there was ONLY 3 that a white male over the age of 25 could qualify for.

I had to get a new license for ohio when uncle sam finally had enough pity on me to release me from Redstone Arsenal .
While I was standing in line in the bmv to retake my written test for the ohio laws and license, there was a young chinese lady in front of me doing the same test.
But; she couldn't read english.
So they gave her the test in CHINESE.
I lived in ohio for 20 years.
I have NEVER seen ANY traffic signs in Ohio in CHINESE!
So why did she get her test in chinese?
Because it was her right because of political correctness.
I had a conversation with her later and I asked her about being in this new land she now called home. I aksed her about being able to call herself a chinese-american and was she happy with that.
She abruptly replied NO! She was an AMERICAN and it made her sick to see other people attach such phony titles to things and take advantage of the system just because it was "pc"....she hated it.
But she had more right to call herself chinese-american than anyone else.
And the list goes on and on and on.....
But,we have to deal with it because it is *un-pc* to be *un-pc*.
It just seems funny to me that the people who have to claim the birth right to another country are the ones who are born on US soil and the ones who actually come from other countries can't shout "I AM AN AMERICAN!!!" loud enough.
And living in a foreign land and experiencing peoples opinions from other cultures; the majority of them think we are insane for *political correctness*!

The police threatened to arrest him if he didn't leave and they were going to charge him with illegal protesting!!!

It's hard to get a good view of what it's like over here if you don't live over here. The liberal media is highly reactionary and they blow our problems WAY out of proportion because they have an agenda. On the other hand, the conservative media is full of apologists and government supporters. This is the view that many people have of us.
You've heard of the Patriot Act. I don't like it. I think it's crappy. However, it doesn't really affect my everyday life. Just one example of something that's going to get played out like it's a huge bloody tragedy. It's not really that big of a deal at this second, but it could be.

As a white guy who works in a Federal job dealing with just about every demographic possible, and the constant pressures to hire and promote diverse applicants, and as a guy who graduated from a predominantly black, inner city school, I firmly believe that the poor white guy syndrome is grossly overstated.
