You could be in a special Canadian version and as for looking at their education system- the Polish/Candian education system produced YOU so I think they are in just as much trouble.

Your soulmates?

Well i guess you didint see the point i made about debt. Most people here wouldent even know about the debt of canada since its not big its not a problem. We never hear about it i dont even remember it being said in school, im pretty sure most people wont know the debt of their country until they look it up. Just cuz i dont know everything about my government dont mean im ignorant my tv news is all american thats why i started this topic and wanted to get other peoples thoughts on it.

I dont only watch youtube videos i do reading too, but when i present my stuff id rather do it in a video form its alot easier on the other person. sound + visual vs long reading what one would you rather have? The videos are excellent for showing my points, or maybe you dont see the points they make?Which videos that i have posted in this thread lie? is there any of them that are false?

My polish education is on level of grade 4 child... Thats when i left and i was tested in schools here too, to see what grade i would go in and guess what? i skipped 5 and went to 6. I might of not payed much of attention in high school in civics classes as back then i could care less about the government and found it boring(like every kid does in high school what 15/16 year olds want to learn how the government works?)in my opinion they should of left that class for gr12 for older people since they are closer to voting for what government they want rather then 15/16 year olds who dont give a crap about that yet.

If the polish and canadian education systems are bad to you then because canada has one of the top ones so i really think other nations are in more trouble than me or canada in general. I mean what other country is as free as canada law wise with the same standard of living? Did you know the avrage job after high school is around 14-18 bucks at the start? You can do call center work right after high school and make 16-18 buks and hour or more(right from the start then later on get even higher pay). For example http://jobview.monster.ca/GetJob.aspx?JobID=68817379&JobTitle=Field+Installation+Technician&fn=9005&fn=543&fn=6&fn=545&fn=553&fn=554&fn=660&rad=32&rad_units=km&cnme=hamilton&cy=CA&vw=b&AVSDM=2008-02-20+20%3a36%3a00&pg=1&seq=17 Thats over 20 bucks an hour if you brake it down and all you need is high school.
46,000.00 - 48,000.00 CAD /year
(includes a base salary + bonus)

Im not even going to college and my parents are proud of me since i make a good pay(i dont work call center but just to show with high school in canada with our education you can make 16-20+ bucks an hour, can you do that in any other country?)

I simply skipped college and just went to get a+ since i got my ccna 1 and ccna 2 and i EASLY scored a good high paying job(in my eyes im living like king) I would not have been able to do that in lets say poland I dont even think people in america could make 16-20+ after high school with no college.

When I lived in Germany, I was hanging out with my then girlfriend's family (all German). The mom loved me to death and she used to talk about America and our help in WWII and all of that. Her explanation of a lot of our actions was to say, "Oh Steve. You American's are SO YOUNG." In many ways, her perception of America and Americans really shaped my own. She used to enjoy pointing out bars, brothels and dive apartments. "Steve. That brothel is older than your country," or "Steve. See that bar? That building was made in the middle ages."

The point of all of that is that our country is, in the scheme of things, very, very young. While we have developed a cultural identity, we are very insecure in that identity. We're adrift ancestrally and where most countries can point to dozens of generations, we have to reach back to our immigrant (or in some cases native) roots to become grounded.

I can't say this is true or not, as I'm not an anthropologist or anything like that. But when that old German lady said it, it just rang true to me. In the good times, we're seen internationally as a precocious teenager and at worst almost like the omnipotent child from The Twighlight Zone.

If you were educated and paying attention, you'd have understood that this comment:

blows the idea that the Canadian debt is lower than US debt out of the water. Basically, you guys are in just as bad of debt as we are

Quick explanation.

If you make $40,000 a year, and you owe $10,000, it's basically the same as if you make $40,000,000 a year and owe $10,000,000. That's basically what's going on here.

I see the points you're trying to make and I agree with most of them to some degree. The validity of those points is under scrutiny, but not as much as your credibility.

First off, that just means that call center work pays good in Canada. What special skills does Canadian High School provide it's students that makes them able to earn that kind of wage?

Dude you just shot holes in the point you were trying to make. You are making good money because you got your CCNA. Did you get that in High School?

You must live under some special rock. Everybody I know knows about the debt, how large it is, and that it's not growing smaller fast enough. Hell, my 19 year old can inteligently discuss the debt, government deficits, fiscal policy and world economics.

Ya high schools here offer ccna for free in grade 11 and 12, its not just call center im talking about most jobs are pretty good waged im not talking about stuff like mcdonalds or fast foods thats overran with 15 year olds.

CanuckMA

LOl how am i living under a rock? because i dont remember the number a teacher said in class over 3 years ago? are you serious? Just because your son might know it dont mean everyone does.....Im more aware of global warming then most people on this forum does it mean they live under the rock since they dont pay attention to the weather change?

That's a hell of a statement. So, I take it you've had contact with the larger half of the 37,029 members on this board in order to draw this conclusion?

Also, I'm afraid that even where the subject has come up, you haven't really shown your grasp of said subject as being something on a higher playing field....

Well most of these members dont even come on this forum....The ones that are usually active showed them selfs in my other threads especially the one involving global change i had couple members deny global warming thinking nothing is getting worse with our climate change and that it will not effect them in couple years. his claim that everyone knows the canadian debt is more bs. out of 33 million people that live here alot must be under rocks since they dont know the official debt of canada...Its such a requirement right? Its the most important thing about canada to know and if you dont you must be from under some rock.

Dude... you're making more sense with every post. Very well put!
I've often heard similar things from a mate of mine from the UK... this pub was around XXX number of years than your country. Which in a certain way says more about the priorities his culture places on age than anything about American culture in some ways. Really it's speaking volumes about his culture rather than mine. It becomes very apparent in some ways why Europe was known as the Old World and America was thought of as the New World... as much for the mindset as it is for the actual age of the countries.

As well it all becomes rather interesting when you actually ask someone who takes the stance 'Americans don't have any culture' and ask them what model of culture they're referring to... most often they have a concept or they're basing their ideas on a model of culture that is still stuck in the Victorian age.

No you've embarrassed yourself because

A) You continue to refuse to correct your spelling. Even simple words. So it's like trying to read the typings of a fifth grader.

B) You either couldn't or weren't willing to build a coherent argument based on decent scientific methodology and logic. Instead you opted for sensationalist hogwash tied up with new age hokeyness and topped off with a royal dose of just plain old fashioned pig headedness.

Again.. way to miss the point. No one is attracted to your mom or your parents. No Oedipus wrecks for me thank you.
The point is that you should be embarrassed that your so arrogant and so stubborn as to continually argue on about subjects that you've been countered by common sense and logic at pretty much every turn. To see you repeatedly done in by your own bizarre logic is getting too painful to watch. Surely you mom would be bummed to see her son getting intellectually punked down.

So then, your statement should have hinted at a couple of members, not most, correct? Also, it's worth noting that most were denying the dramatic nature in which you suggested it would affect them.(End of the world in a few years... etc...) And I'm not convinced their wrong about that. The whole 'end of the world' argument begins and ends based on an assumption. But anyway, this is a issue that belongs in the other thread........

I think the point is that, if your going to point fingers at other countries, you should know the condition of your own. And to be honest, it's a sentiment I agree with. It's a question of how credible your criticisms are. I.E. Are you talking out of your hat or not?

I don't think it's a big deal that you didn't know, however, I'm referring to this in an abstract manner. Considering the nature of this argument and the subject material thereof, you should know where your country stands in comparison.

Nope. This one is a fact.

The oldest skeletons found so far were from the region of gaul.
They were found in the southwestern part of the US and they date back about 20,000 years.
And what happened to them? Who knows.
But,of course,there wasn't even a gaul back then.
Just the region.

One of my students pointed something out quite interesting tonight after class.
100 years ago, this discussion would have been deemed near heresy against the goverment or the establishment.
50 years ago, voicing the same opinion would have been deemed radical treason or somewhere near to it.
now, it's based in racism.

Isn't it funny how the same subject never changes, only the label?

I'll be the first to throw my hands up and say what I despise the most is there is no real equality,if you actually think about it.
Yes, I am an idealist.
I despise "pc" because it has been b***tardised for certain groups greed.
Yes, that IS true. ( notice,no mention of race?)
It may have started out as a good tool, then it got shot to crap.
I know that being an idealist is sometimes useless, but I will die with my boots on!
This whole attitude of "a piece of the pie" thing is old and worn out.
What if we got rid of said pie?
(I don't know! YOU figure it out how to do it! I just asked a question)

In my truthful, honest, heart felt opinion; it's not politcal correctness that has ruined everything.
It is plain ole everyday GREED.
"tolerance" and "political correctness" are just words to cover it up.
There is your "pie", in my book.
G-R-E-E-D.

Without the jones, the Mr.Gotrocks and the Havenots,
we would ALL be equal.
Would we not?

BOOYA!

Since living in the UK, I too, have lived in houses that were older than the US
and I have seen things that were here before the "new world" was ever thought of.
Which got me to thinking.
With this war going on, I have been told the the US is trying to build an empire like the days of old.
In a sense,it may seem that way to some.
Let's say it is true.
Why wouldn't it be?
We are a young country compared to the rest of the world and,for lack of a better description, the US is like a teenager stomping it's feet and trying to be heard by the rest of the world.
So we build an "empire" so the elders can see us.
And you know what?
Empires eventually fall. ALL of them.
And just before they fall; they seem to go crazy and lose sight of the initial goal.
In my opinion, this will be the last "empire" we shall ever see on this planet.
And maybe then, our grandkids can set things straight.
The next generation won't do it, it will be the one who follows them.

We are just following the course of human inevitability and societal evolution.

Too bad we can't just ride the wave in,eh?!

p.s,

that was a great episode of the twilight zone!

How about this:

Most people may not know the exact number but they'll have a good feel for it. Most people are well aware that Canada has a debt. It is talked about, a lot.

The point is that if you're going to shoot your mouth off, at least appear to know what your talking about.

Yohan, about your friend the father of 5. Could you point me to one govenmental welfare program where race is a criterium? State or federal... Just point me to one. I'm not aware of any cash assistance program in any state where race is a factor. My bs meter is pegged.
