panting, whining.? So last night she was whining at the door so we let my dog in, which is unusual for our outside dogs, and she usually knows to go right to the entry hall and sit down. But then she walked into every room in the house sniffing and searching everywhere even my closet... We made her lay down and I searched her everywhere and made sure she was ok. I checked her head extra well and couldn't find anything. This morning, she still was acting weird. I thought it might be something in her eye so i dropped some water in both eyes but she still just rubbed her head on the ground.
Is it possible for her to be acting weird because she has a full winter coat already and its still hot? I tried giving her ice water but she still just panted until she fell asleep.

She is spayed so it isn't like she is in heat even though that is kind of how she is acting....
any ideas? Sorry that it is so long but i will really appreciate the help!
Well... I was thinking internal issues too, except I tried getting a response from her by feeling on her stomach and all over but she never even flinched and I tried pressing harder and she still didn't care... And I was thinking fleas, which she does have a few of, trying to fix, but that wouldn't make her act funny last night? And she has had fleas many times before and not done this... but thanks... I will try calling the vet and see what they say...

If you don't notice any physical symptoms, it is a reasonable assumption that her odd behaviors may be caused by an internal issue. I'd suggest consulting your vet.

Sounds like fleas or skin mites. But you won't know for sure without taking her to the vets.

it could be fleas my dog did the same thing and i looked in his fur for hours and i found a flea but you could take her to the vet

my dog was acting like that and we couldn't figure out what was wrong until accidentally my daughter found a funny bug on her skin and we couldn't take it off because the bug was biting hard and would not let go.the vet said we should wet the bug with alcohol on a cotton ball and it will let go. all though my dog has had all her shots and pills and so on but this seems happen .the difficult thing is finding the bugs you have to be very through and search well. good luck
