I've had 2 mollies in my 28l tank for 2 weeks. The tank was cycled prior to introducing them and the levels are fine. There is a heater and a filter, lots of places to hide, water temperature is fine.

It's a white molly, and I've noticed it has come out with 3 patches of dark around it's middle. It can definitely swim, it just never seems to want to.

I know it's a male, and the other molly is a female. (Shop's fault!) The female is fine.

It generally tends to stay towards the back of the tank, it doesn't particularly favour the top or the bottom, it just likes the back. I've noticed it seems to be hiding from the female?

I also haven't seen it eat in 2 weeks, so I'm concerned. It doesn't appear to be thin, it looks the same size as the female. When I feed them, the female comes rushing up and goes crazy, the white one doesn't even seem to notice. I once saw him suck some food into his mouth, which he promptly spat back out.

Any suggestions? Should I get another molly? What gender?
