Whats wrong with my Honda Shadow?

Battery would loose charge within 5 minutes of riding. Found out it was a bad battery. I changed the battery. Then after changing the battery there was no spark to the spark plugs. I looked up the problem on-line and from what I found the bad battery killng the ignition coils. So, I changed both ignition coils and still no spark. Bike turns over but doesnt run.

At this time I'm completely at a loss of ideas.

Bike is a 94 Honda Shadow 600 VLX.
 
probably need to check stator...also, don't know what kind of battery you bought but I had problem with 750 Yamaha like that and cheap batteries don't work!! Good luck
