some idiot asked it butdidnt put an answer.here is a tricky one, There is a light bulb in side a room, there is no way you can see into the room unless you are in there, in a different room there are three light switches and only one of them is the switch for the light bulb. How can you know which switch is for the light bulb if you are allowed only one trip into the room?

figure which switch is for the light in the room with the switches...turn the other two switches one on,one off,go in the lightbulb room and see if the light is on or off...

you switch on one switch for a few minutes, one for ages, and dont turn the other one on at all. you go through to the other room, the bulb that is warm is operated by the first switch, the roasting hot bulb (that would burn your hand) is operated by the second switch, and the cold bulb is operated by the third switch. so there you go....

turn 1 light switch on....wait for 5 minutes then turn it off. then switch a different switch on . then go into the room.if the light is on then you hit the right switch, if it is off but warm to the touch then its the first switch you hit but then turned off, its off but cold its the switch you didnt touch

Wow all the people in here (edit-besides snafu) are giving you answers to a riddle with 3 bulbs... I guess I'm the only one who read the question..Anyways, you flip the first switch on for 5 minutes, then turn it off. Then you immediately turn the third switch on and leave it on, and enter the room.--If it is controlled by the first switch, the bulb will be hot--If it's controlled by the second the light will be off--If it's controlled by the third, the light will be on.
