When burning photos to a DVD how do I do this ?

I am burning photos and pictures to a DVD and of course I want the photos to be as large as the resolution allows, but if I set the resolution for landscapes than when I have a portrait many times the top of the persons head is cut off and that hurts. Can I have my cake and eat it too ? I'm still fairly new to computers so I still don't always know the computer language and might not express myself as well as I would like.
 
the resolution has nothing to do w/ landscape, this is layout.
many programs have many different options of how to address this, we need mor einfo.
however, you could try to enlarge the 'canvas' in your pic editor, recenter and crop as you see fit.
however, you cannot really enlarge the resolution, your'e simply talking about 'zoom' to enlarge the pic to the screen. you must start w/ a high resolution to get more resolution...
