What's the official date it goes into effect? And will shisha still be legal? If shisha is made illegal, will hookahs be obsolete? Will we still be able to buy that shisha alternative that many use for hookah?

I can only answer your very first question (sorry).

A tobacco shop owner told me that they have to have the flavored tobaccos off the shelves by 22 September 2009. If they still have stock left, it's too bad. They are not allowed to sell it after that date. This shop owner also makes flavored tobaccos and he said that production of the banned items are already stopped a couple of weeks ago.

I don't know anything about the types of tobaccos that you mentioned. But I think that the law only applies to tobacco used as cigarette tobacco. If you really like this stuff, I strongly suggest that you start calling around locally tomorrow to find out. Time is running out quickly for the banned items.
