When I'm programming iPhone apps in a team of two. Do we need two accounts?

Me and my buddy have recently discovered a passion/intense skill for programming iPhone apps and now we'd like to take our iPhone apps to the app store. But once the thought of how will we receive the money came up the project was put on hold. Does a development team need an account for each member of the team. Or is Apple willing to send evenly divided checks to all members of the team using a single account?
