When should we adopt another dog after our last died?

Our dog of about six years died this past week. We love her dearly and she will always be in our hearts. I sometimes feel bad thinking of adopting another dog, but it's in the spirit of our past dog, because that's what I think she would want (she was a rescue dog).

A couple of my family members are very emotional right now, as we all have different ways of grieving. I'm just wondering what a good time frame would be to suggest adoption. Thanks.
