When to expect better travel rates during recession?

Supposedly travel rates are going to go down as airlines, hotels, destinations, etc. struggle to get our money during an economic downturn. Any idea when to expect to see sales and adverts with lower rates? I've saved my money, am safe in my job and would like to book a trip to Disney for my son and I. How long do you think I need to wait it out for better pricing...and especially versus higher fuel costs for flights?

I don't know where you are but I'm from Australia and our dollar is edging towards the same as the American dollar. So for me it's a great time to book especially online which is what I've just done. Nearly everything online is in American dollars so it's not too bad for us Aussies at the moment.

The best time to travel for anyone is off season.
Next it depends on your currency. Since you said recession, I'll assume you're american and our dollar is taking a beating.
It'll help if you'll check around and find out where the dollar is strongest. Then go there. Eastern Europe is a nice deal.
