when will a photo radar take a picture of your car?

when will a photo radar in a neighborhood actually take your picture? Is it if your going at 40's in a 25 speed zone?
Also, how would you know if a photo radar has taken your picture in the day?
 
It's going to get you. That's pretty fast for a 25 MPH speed zone. You might get by with 15 over at hwy speeds but not in town speeds. The only way you are going to know for sure is wait for about a month and see if you get a ticket in the mail.
 
They might be different depending on the area, but it's usually at 10-11 mph over the speed limit.
 
I would guess it's threshold is lower than 15 over. Unless you know otherwise, I would aim for less than 5 MPH over.
