all the way off? I know that some cars, such as a Lexus IS300 I drove recently, don't actually kill traction control completely, as it still kicks in when you start to lose traction. It's almost like it just lowers the skid threshold for when it kicks in or something (just conjecture).

Anyway I wanted to know if that's the case in my 2000 BMW 323i. When I push the DSC button, a symbol pops up that tells me its "off", but I want to know for sure if it's actually turning everything off or not. I also read a small bit about holding the button down for a certain number of seconds (on certain models) to activate a different traction mode, such as a traction control "all off" or something like that. Can anyone shed some light please?

Thanks in advance!
