You don't have to buy it. Check out your local freecycle.org group. Ask for used cooking oil. You'd be amazed at how many responses you'll get. You just have to go pick it up. There's one guy on our freecycle board who's always looking for it for the same reason as you. So I keep a coffee can of it and post it when it gets full and he comes and picks it up. Totally free.
