Hello, the fan blades unfortunately broke off of my ARES video card during installation. I have sought to resolve this with Asus, but they ended up telling me that it would be $850 to replace the heat sink just to replace the fan. What I am looking for is a spare fan, or at-least one that performs like the Ares fan. As far as I know the specs for the fan that I am looking for is:
100mm
V-REG (voltage regulator that regulates the fan based on how much load the card is under)
A tripod looking mounting bracket with three holes to mount on the card
4-pin power connector

I can't really tell you how much I would appreciate the help, any help at all, this has been a long standing problem for me. Thanks!

I think you may have to find an alternative method. The 2 large copper heatsinks are separate from the fan.

The fan and the V-Ram heatsinks are one complete unit.

Looking at the fan, you would have to buy something that blows air sideways

The fan's blades shouldn't break so easily either, they obviously used cheap plastic if it can break so easily.. Also, the unit is covered under a warranty. I would try to get an RMA on it. Asus only looks at the serial numbers when it comes to an RMA.

There's no way a fan replacement should cost more than $100. You're going to have to call them on a daily basis and be patient and not get angry when you call them. Otherwise, I would suggest modding a couple waterblocks and looking for a watercooling setup for the video card.

Since Asus made only 1000 of these 5870x2 cards you won't find a custom Block or aftermarket heatsink.

I would go over to overclock.net, tomshardware, techpowerup, any of those overclocker sites and use their forums. No one here knows what an Asus Ares is without having to google it up. If you own a exotic piece of hardware you sure as hell don't belong here.
