Where can I get map drawing software?

I hand draw maps. Mostly they are large enough to take up multiple pieces of paper and i tape them together to make one big map. Each page fits together with the pages around it. I am trying to find a way to get these maps digitized so I can edit them and begin to create transit maps (ex., bus schedules, subway schedules, etc.) Is there any way to do this short of drawing them out by hand in MS Paint or a similar program. I'm not incredibly computer saavy so i would need something that's somewhat easy to use.. Thanks.
