where can you drive a mini chopper or mini bike?

I'm 14 and I'm looking into getting a mini bike or a mini chopper. I live in North Carolina. Can I ride them on the sidewalk or on neighborhood streets. is it even legal for me to drive a gas one or do I have to wait until I'm 18. can i drive an electric one. Thanks!

No you cannot ride the gas bikes on the street. I found this out the hard way. They illegal cuz there only inches from the ground. Not to sure bout' the electric ones though. But if you get a 4 stroke(bout 125cc) you can make it legal

It depends on how loud or what cc it is. I had a mini bike that wasnt loud and I road on my neighborhood street and I never got in trouble or complained on. It was gas powered too.
