Where does the global flood fit into, say, Japanese history?

Did every single person in Japan drown, and then, several years later, descendants of the people on Noah's ark found the country, learned the language, mastered the art style and technology, and resumed history as if nothing had happened, without even mentioning it in writing?

Or did all of Japanese history take place in the last 4400 years?
