Where & how to do snowmobiling in NJ, NY, VA area?

I have never done snowmobiling or skiing. I live in Georgia, and would like to do snowmobiling some where in NJ, NY, VA area. My questions are;
1) Does snowmobiling require a license?
2) For a new rider how does it work?
3) Like skiing I have to take a training session first & then do it?
4) What places offer snowmobiling in NJ, NY or VA areas and how much it cost?
