I am looking for a version of H.G. Wells "The Time Machine". I am looking for the version, shown on network television. In this version, a NASA scientist developes the machine. In this version, the time machine looks like two triangles, one flat, for the "cockpit" to rest on, and the second as a backing, for the machine. In this version, the time machine operator can program in exact dates, and times, using a computer keyboard, and a monitor. As I recall, this machine had flashing lights, to indicate motion. At the start of the movie, the defense department is trying to blow a missle out of the sky, but the equipment gets too warm, and wont function. The scientist has to reduce the room temperature, significantly, then hit the in-bound missile, from behind.
Lots of "modern" effects, in this version. Modern, for the 1980's, that is.
Does anyone else remember this version? If so, which version/year was it made, and who starred. Also, where would I find a copy?
