Where to look for horses for sale?

We are looking for a horse and I am wondering where to look other then the obvious (dreamhorse, equine.com, horsetopia etc). We are looking for mainly Paints but any breed really. I live in Michigan.

There are national magazine's that deal with this request.
Look in your local saddlery or riding school for more local adverts.
 
internet, newspaper and even a vet.If you are a first time owner try to stay away from auction houses because they can be very misleading and you can end up with a horse that is the opposite of what you thought it was.
